How do i get rid of my cough?

I have had this cough for a very long time, and i'm thinking its because i smoke weed more then once every day. I've taken coughing pills, buckleys and nothing works. Should I stop smoking weed for a bit? It is a dry cough, and usually late at night I will cough and cough and cough all night. And sometimes I cough so much I puke. I NEED HELP PLEASE!
