I want to add a message to my girlfriend at the end of a DVD?

I have a really romantic movie that I want to do something for for my girlfriend. At the end of the movie after the credits I want to add a little message in text. I know to do this I will need to rip the DVD to my PC, use a program like adobe premiere then reburn it to DVD. I was wondering what the best way to do this would be? What programs should I use? What formats should I use so I don't lose any quality?
